The way that we think is incredibly important because the battlefield inside of the human mind is a place where the enemy loves to attack. He understands that if he can influence our thinking, he has more of an opportunity to influence our words. Understanding the power of spoken words, his actual desire, is to see his will manifested in our lives instead of the will of God.

The good news is that God knows how the enemy moves. So, the means and methods of defeating the devil are already laid out inside of His word. God wants negative thinking to stop because He knows that the spirit of pessimism seeks to block hope and create barriers to restoration, In the midst of things working out in their favor, Pessimists gravitate toward the potential of the negative possibilities relating to something that COULD occur in the future. They can literally be stressed out, over something that does not exist, because the enemy has convinced them that it could exist. Talk about a joy thief!! Sometimes, the spirit of pessimism can hide deep within a person's spirit. You might be reading this right now and not know that you are dealing with that spirit. So, here are a few tips to identify if a spirit of pessimism is present in your life (Note: all of the tips provided in the sermon are not listed here, so make sure you click the link at the top of this blog so that you can review them all):

  • Most pessimists suffer from anxiety. Anxiety can cause someone to not only overthink, but to expect the worst while doing it. Worrying all of the time is dangerous for your heart, which in turn, is dangerous for your health. As Apostle Jivel has stated many times over, the level of stress the body absorbs as a result of someone latching on to a falsely perceived threat is entirely unnecessary. Additionally, anxiety can operate with the spirit of fear to create avoidance and an overall loss of peace and tranquility within someone's spirit.

  • Pessimists tend to plan for disappointment. They plan on being disappointed by other people and being a disappointment to other people. Constantly forecasting themselves failing expectations while simultaneously expecting others to fail as well. This can happen without them even trying. They have grown accustomed to it; therefore, it has the potential to go unchecked.

  • One thing that pessimism fosters that God does not like, is complaining. Pessimists tend to complain about everything, causing them to be unsatisfied with multiple things, people, and situations/circumstances. Nothing is ever good enough, regardless of how things happen or work out.

The spirit of pessimism is extremely demonic. Therefore, we need deliverance from it and all of the other demonic spirits (fear, anxiety, depression, faithlessness, ungratefulness, etc.) that have tagged along with it. In order for you to be free you need to arrest everything that doesn't align with what the word of God says.

It’s time to be optimistic so you can receive the new things God is doing. Here are a few of the examples highlighted in the sermon (again, make sure to go back and listen to the whole thing so you won't miss out on all of the ways to increase optimism in your life):

  • Focus on God's voice for your future. If you are hearing demonic thoughts, thoughts that contradict what God says about you, bring them into captivity (meaning recognize that they are present and arrest/put a stop to them). Understand that you control your thoughts. Your thoughts do not control you. Go to the word of God to become more familiar with what He says about you. Seek spiritual counsel from individuals who truly know God and are striving to operate in holiness. Last, book an appointment for healing and deliverance. • Stop imagining the worst. Reality can be the best-case scenario. As a matter of fact, even if the worst thing you can imagine was to happen, like your death, as Apostle Jivel so eloquently put it, you would still come out blessed if you have given your life to Christ. For a Christian, death isn't death at all, it is life everlasting with no pressure and no pain, it is joy unspeakable, it is unmatched love with no worries. So what is there to fear?!! Now, if you have never given your life to Christ, I can see how you might feel a bit uneasy. The good news is that God loves you so very much, He does not care where you have been or what you have done. Your perfection is not a prerequisite to His love. So, you can scroll to the bottom of this blog, say the salvation prayer below out loud, and change your eternity. Starting today, once you say that prayer, you will never be the same and that is a guarantee.

  • Stop trying to control your future by anticipating disappointment through negative thoughts. Instead, prepare for all of the positive possibilities that could come out of the situation as well. What if everything turns out as your heart truly desires it to? What if you get to enjoy the life you have always dreamed of? What if you get to experience the very thing that you have been waiting for? What would your life look like if the best-case scenario was to occur?

The enemy doesn't want you to realize everything that God has in store. He doesn't want you to grab ahold of the joy attached to the acceptance of the future God has designed for you. Contrary to what some people think, God does not focus on your failure. So, be careful not to fall into the clutches of condemnation. Your mistakes are merely an opportunity for God to create a masterpiece out of your missteps.

Last, when trying to discern a thought, remember that God always delivers messages with hope. Even in the worst circumstances, He always brings in a ray of sunshine in the end. For example, Adam and Eve were deceived into destroying the Garden of Eden as God designed it. Yet, even at that moment, as terrible as their decision was, God still let them know that Jesus Christ would come one day to rectify their error. Now if that isn't a ray of SONshine, I don't know what is!!!!

Looking at that example, we can see that the best thing for you to do, regardless of any situation, is to EXPECT God to restore, replenish, refresh, direct, heal, deliver, and most of all, LOVE YOU THROUGH IT. No matter what is going on, God will always make a way. That is not an opinion, it is what His word says; therefore, it is an unrefuted FACT!!

You must change your mindset. Align with what God says about you. Speak life into your life, echoing the word of God, and officially emancipate yourself from the spirit of pessimism. The only thing sweeter than the taste of that freedom is the taste of God's love.

SALVATION PRAYER

Father God, come into my life and cleanse me. Forgive me for all of my sins. I confess that I believe in your son, Jesus Christ and I repent (which means to change) today for everything that I have ever done, that was outside of your will. Thank you Father!! You are now my Lord and Savior, and I will live for you, for the rest of my days. In Jesus' Name, AMEN!!

If you just said that prayer, Heaven is rejoicing right now. HALLELUJAH and Welcome Home!!!
