THE JOURNEY TO DESTINY • Fulfilling Prophesy

The roughly 90-mile journey (according to biblical scholars) that Mary and Joseph embarked on so many years ago, to them was just a life situation but at its core fulfilled prophesy that had been spoken 800 years prior. Micah 5:2-5 prophesied that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem. There were so many pieces of the puzzle that brought that one journey into place. Every piece that God divinely orchestrated had a purpose, all that lead to the birth of Jesus.

• Endurance

To think about the strength and endurance that Joseph and Mary would have needed to make that journey is mind-blowing. The thought that at almost 9 months pregnant you would make the decision to travel around 90 miles in every element, walking,

riding, and with no idea exactly what you would face on the way. They could have encountered animals, bad weather, and thieves on their journey at any time. They didn’t have a choice though. They had to keep pressing. They had to keep going no matter what. They didn’t know that everyone was tied to them completing that journey. Every step they made was important.

• What is His name

In Hebrew names are important and they have meaning. They represent a calling and a destiny. Jesus’s name literally means to deliver, to rescue, and salvation. His name meant His responsibility and His assignment. He is our salvation. He came to deliver us and to rescue us. How beautiful that every time His name is spoken, so is who and what He is to us.

YOUR JOURNEY TO DESTINY • You are divinely ordained

• Others are linked to you

• What you need to birth is important

We see through the life story of Jesus’s birth that God is involved in every aspect of life. Every moment, every purpose, every design whether it be for right now or for thousands of years later. You are also divinely orchestrated and ordained. Every moment of you has been planned and your journey matters to those that God has linked to you. Jesus came for us all and we are each here for someone else. You must keep moving, and keep taking steps on your 90-mile journey. Don’t turn back or stop. What God has placed in your womb needs to be birthed. There is a time for everything, and you do not want to miss your time. Your baby is needed on the earth as well.

This Christmas give praise to God for how good He is. How purposeful He is. How intricate He is. For giving us salvation in Jesus Christ. For the journey and the baby and the life He brought into the world for all of us.
